For our client, an international company with a global reach, one of whose branches is located in Bydgoszcz, we are looking for an IT Senior Technical Analyst.

 

Summary of job:

The IT Senior Technical Analyst is Customer facing and has outstanding communication skills; being able to explain IT concepts to business stakeholders at all levels both within and outside of company.


Company is part way through a major upgrade project replacing legacy shop-floor systems with a new application. The IT Senior Technical analyst will play a pivotal role in this project, becoming an expert in our new application helping our business teams move to the new system and managing any issues they encounter.


The IT Senior Technical Analyst is also expected to become highly knowledgeable on IT integration and messaging since these forms a core component of the IT landscape. This comprises of the design and implementation of messages including the mapping of the message content into and out of comapny's systems. They will also implement message monitoring processes and troubleshooting guides for post go-live. As such they have a close working relationship with the IT Integration development team.

 

Another key aspect of the role is being involved in the implementation of new business programs and other similar projects. The IT Senior Technical Analyst will be involved and manage multiple parts of the implementation, especially where customer communication is required. They will also oversee the various testing cycles and ensure handover between the IT and Business teams are handled smoothly.


The IT Senior Technical Analyst will be a superb problem solver, adept at owning problems through to resolution and typically handling the more complex issues which 1 st level support is unable to solve by themselves. As such they will have some technical ability, especially in SQL.


The IT Senior Technical Analyst works at least at a regional level having a network of contacts across and outside of company. They will regularly communicate with members of the team based in other regions and countries. As such excellent spoken and written English language is a key requirement of the role

Responsibilities

  • Excellent knowledge of how the various IT systems operate and interact with each other, the standard implementations of these systems, knowing their capabilities and limitations.
  • Excellent knowledge of messaging and integration, producing mapping specifications, troubleshooting guides and monitoring processes
  • Collecting and documenting Business requirements by use of interviews, workshops, site visits, task, and workflow analysis
  • Working with external customers to understand requirements, presenting company’s capabilities, demonstrating systems and quoting the IT effort needed to create the required solution
  • Modelling business requirements and translating to application and operational requirements based on the standard suite of applications
  • Where necessary (if standard solutions are not appropriate or existing) creating and documenting functional requirements for new development
  • Being hands-on with the IT applications, able to perform top-level set-up and configuration tasks as required and using SQL and other tools to extract information from the systems
  • Providing 2 nd or 3 rd level support for questions and issues which cannot be answered or solved by 1 st level support
  • May be responsible for scheduling, reporting, and managing the workload of other IT staff either on a project or day-to-day level
  • Reporting to Director of IT

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in IT or similar studies
  • Experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of IT System Integration (B2B) methods and execution
  • Experience of SQL for writing queries to extract ad-hoc information form databases
  • Knowledge of shopfloor and logistics systems functionality preferably in a manufacturing, distribution or service environment
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English language
  • Hands-on skills in IT applications such as ERP
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Great problem-solving and analytical skills
